It smelled of spring again today;
A scent alone in the midst of winter.
Snow yet covers the ground - grey,
And it will snow again tomorrow.
An icy shadow covers me;
A blanket of fear to protect
My soul from biting winds
As I hide from the scent of hope.
It smelled of spring at last today;
A light alone in the midst of darkness.
Sun shines through the clouds - gold,
I will save it for tomorrow.
The icy shadow covers me;
A blanket of fear to prevent
My soul from forming roots
as I reach for the scent of hope.
I want to smell of spring today;
A breath of life in the midst of dieing.
Life grows through darkness - green,
I will grow on through tomorrow.
wow, very nice. interesting way to spell "dying" btw...
ReplyDeletei really enjoyed the format of this one...the going back and forth with rhythms and patterns and the imagery which seemed to play out more as a wonderfully rendered blatant symbolism than a silly let me just paint this for you
nice
